Democrat Dillon Bates, 26, won the race for the Maine House of Representatives seat representing District 35, which includes part of Westbrook.
Bates, a Westbrook resident who has served as a delegate to the Democratic State Convention, took 56 percent of the vote, beating out Republican Emily Sarah Downing, 22, a student at the University of Southern Maine from Westbrook.
