OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Michelle Violette won the seat for school board.
Violette received 2,112 votes, while her opponent, David Boudreau, received 1,408 votes.
Violette will fill a seat being vacated by Regional School Unit 23 Chairman Gary Curtis.
Violette is a married, stay-at-home mother with two children.
Michael Tousignant ran unopposed for re-election to the town council, while Town Clerk Kim McLaughlin ran unopposed for re-election as well.
Residents also voted 2,980 to 522 to approve a town charter amendment. The amendment changes the conflict of interest section of the town charter, allowing staff with relatives on the council to receive raises that are proportional to the raises of other employees in their department.
