WELLS — York County Community College will offer a two-week winter session, which will begin Jan. 5.
This new offering gives college students the chance to complete a course quickly during their winter break.
In addition to being available to YCCC students, those who attend other schools can also take a course during the session.
Accelerated courses in YCCC’s 2015 Winter Session contain the same number of in-class instructional hours. These courses cover the same content and maintain the same academic standards as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester. Additionally, this format allows students to reduce spring credit loads, make up credits, complete degree requirements, or take a course that does not fit into their traditional schedule.
Winter session will run on the Wells campus Jan. 5-16 with three-credit classes held daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Preferred registration for current YCCC students began Nov. 3, and open registration for new and non-matriculated students will begin Nov. 17.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
