The Boston Celtics assigned Dwight Powell to the Maine Red Claws, the team’s NBA Development League affiliate, on Sunday.
Powell, a 6-foot-11 forward, appeared in six games for the Celtics during the preseason and averaged 1.7 points, 1.2 rebounds and 9 minutes per game.
The Red Claws open their season Friday night at Oklahoma City.
