Brunswick is a very special place to live, work and raise our families. I had the honor to run for the town council in the recent election. It was a unique experience that was only possible with the help and support of many people.
Thank you to those who signed my nomination papers that put me on the ballot. Thank you to those folks who allowed me to place a sign on your lawn (although the weather was not so kind this election season). Thank you to the contributors to my campaign. Thank you to those who provided advice and guidance. Thank you to all those who came out to vote, no matter who you voted for.
Thank you to my opponent Kathy Wilson. I have come to know and respect Kathy during this campaign. I know that she cares very deeply about Brunswick and I believe she will be a wonderful addition to the town council.
I believe we all have a role in our community, whether it is public office or serving on committees, volunteering for the library, working with our youth and senior citizens. There are dozens of nonprofit organizations doing wonderful work in our community from our environment to our heritage to people in need. An engaged citizenry enriches the life of our entire community.
Thank you Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
