BOWDOIN COLLEGE field hockey and women’s rugby teams were in action this past weekend. In the photo at the top of the page, Bowdoin goaltender Hannah Gartner makes a save against Middlebury in the NESCAC title game, won by the visiting Panthers, 2-1, on Ryan Field. Bowdoin will host an NCAA Division III second round contest on Saturday against the winner of Wednesday’s Mount Holyoke/Husson first round game. In the photo above, former Mt. Ararat High School studentathlete Randi London finds a gap in the Colorado College defense during an American Collegiate Rugby Association/USA Rugby Division II Tournament contest on Sunday on Pickard Field.
