In “Swiching Sides “ (Times Record, Oct. 30, 2014), what Angus King was really saying is “I Quit,” and “Trust me Eliot on this, I have your back, please allow me a few minutes to sharpen this knife blade.”
Eliot Cutler and Angus have a history going back to working in Sen. Ed Muskie’s Washington office as college interns. What he did to Eliot Cutler might be practiced in Virginia, but as a Mainer, a mans word is his bond. My wife is a long-time supporter of Eliot Cutler, from the first, was so incensed at Angus King kicking Eliot to the curb that she and many others voted for Gov. Paul Le Page. That little action cost Mike Michaud many votes. Now, the $64,000 question, if Angus King would throw a long-time colleague under the bus, What is he doing for Maine’s Joe Sixpack and Maine’s Mary Homemaker?

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
