BIDDEFORD — A pair of early goals by junior Jackie Dickerson started secondseeded University of New England on its way to a 5-0 win over No. 7 Emmanuel College in a quarterfinal round match of the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women’s Soccer Championship, which was played Wednesday afternoon at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
The Nor’easters (12-4-2) advance into the semifinals to host No. 3 Westfield State University (a 3-0 winner over sixth-seeded Wentworth Institute of Technology) today at 3 p.m.
Leading 4-0, UNE capped the scoring in the 69th minute, as junior Tori Field of Woolwich sent a chip from the top of the box into open space on the right side of the net, and senior Kaitlyn Hall just got a flick on it.
The Nor’easters outshot Emmanuel by a 24-10 count, and had all eight of the game’s corner kicks.
