The Sanford Parks and Recreation Department will host a 5K and 10K Turkey Trot road race at 9 a.m. Saturday. Race-day registration is at the Sanford Junior High School gym on Main Street. Online registration is open through Wednesday at sanfordrec.com. The entry fee is $10 in advance or $15 the day of the event. There will also be a 1K Dog Jog/Walk. Race organizers also will be accepting donations of canned goods for the Sanford Food Pantry.

The annual Camden Hills Regional High School Ski Team Ski Sale will be held Nov. 22 and 23 at the Camden Snow Bowl. Participants can buy or sell used winter sports equipment. Anyone who would like to sell equipment should preregister at google.com/site/chrhsskisale and drop off items from 3 p.m to 8 p.m. Friday. The ski team gets 25 percent of the proceeds from each sale. Donated equipment will also be accepted. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The 46th annual Maine Track Club Turkey Trot 5K will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at Cape Elizabeth Middle School. The chip-timed race has an entry limit of 1,000 runners and serves as the Road Runners Club of America’s 5K state championship. The entry fee is $25. Online registration is open at register.chronotrack.com/reg/form?eventID=9522; entries also will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fleet Feet Maine Running in Portland and from 7 to 8:45 a.m. on race day. In addition to the 5K, there’s a free kids’ fun run at 8:30 a.m., which race-day registration only. All participants are invited to bring a nonperishable food item for donation to Wayside Food Programs, the race beneficiary.
