The cold days and nights have already arrived, much earlier than usual it seems, and Windham Neighbors Helping Neighbors is once again ready to help those families who are desperately seeking ways to stay warm. We provide emergency fuel assistance of 100 gallons per qualified family once per heating season.

Each case is reviewed carefully and the applicant must have already tried to get assistance for all other possible sources prior to our getting involved. Last winter we assisted 101 such families and we fully expect that this season we will have even more requests for help.

Windham Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a federally registered nonprofit organization with the 501(c)3 status meaning that all contributions are tax deductible. Every dollar that is donated is used to purchase heating fuel.

If you are able to make a contribution between now and the end of the calendar year you will not only provide badly needed help to some very needy families who are struggling to stay warm, but also get a tax deduction for your generosity.

I would like to share a few responses from local people we have helped over the past few years.

“Thank you for being there, you were our last hope.”
