Happy Holidays

WINNIE MERRILL of Harpswell has been training this chipmunk over the past three years to eat out of her hand. She said it took a while to gain the animal’s trust, but now he will jump up in her lap as long as she has something to feed him, like sunflower seeds. He’s not fussy who feeds him, she said, as is evident in her photo of 10-year-old grandson Blaine Cochburn giving him a snack.
