Kiwanis Foundation of New England President John Maihos presented Kiwanis Club of Standish President-Elect Dan Kasprzyk with a signature red jacket during the recent New England Conference in Portsmouth, N.H.

In awarding the jacket, Maihos cited Kasprzyk’s community service as a School Administrative District 6 School Board director and his recent selection as Standish’s Kiwanian of the Year.

The Kiwanis Foundation of New England provides assistance and support to communities across New England. Its signature program, the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute, provides safety information and materials for Kiwanis clubs, local police and fire departments, schools, day-care centers, medical clinics, hospitals and others for the benefit of children and families.

Kiwanis Club of Standish has been serving the local community since 1929, and is part of Kiwanis International. They meet most Wednesdays at 6 p.m. For more information about these organizations, visit www.KiwanisBeach.org, or call 642-4036.
