HARPSWELL — Orr’s Island Library will run its First Thursday Program Thursday, January 8, 7p.m. The library is located at 1699 Harpswell Islands Road (Route 24).

The program, which was postponed from last year because of bad weather, is about the Jordan family, who came to the region in 1638. Robert Jordan and his wife Sarah had six sons, and suffered Indian attacks, family members taken prisoner to Canada, and Robert’s own imprisonment for not following the dictates of the Puritans.
