An Acton man charged with breaking into an apartment and unlawfully sexually touching a 9-year-old boy is expected to make his first court appearance this afternoon.
Keith Poole, 22, was arrested by York County Sheriff’s Office deputies shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday.
York County Sheriff-Elect Bill King said the boy was sleeping when a man entered the apartment, where the boy was staying with family members. The attack awakened the boy. King said the intruder left the apartment after a brief conversation, and then family members called the police.
King said Sgt. Kyle Kassa conducted the investigation and determined that Poole, a resident of another unit in the multi-family dwelling, was the alleged intruder.
Both unlawful sexual contact and burglary are Class B felonies; the maximum prison term upon conviction of a Class B crime is 10 years.
Poole is expected to make his first appearance at Springvale District Court today, via a video conference from York County Jail in Alfred, where he was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail Saturday.
