AUGUSTA — Newly elected state Rep. Ralph Tucker (D-Brunswick) has been appointed by House Speaker Mark Eves to serve on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and the Insurance and Financial Services Committee.

“I am eager to work on two committees critical to the quality of life in our community and our state,” Tucker said in a statement. “On the Environment committee, I will fight to preserve our state’s natural resources, and to strengthen protections for our families and children from chemical toxins in everyday products. On Insurance and Financial Services, I will work hard to promote universal health care, and to safeguard Mainers from predatory lenders and unfair foreclosures.”
