BATH — Ethan Winglass continued his offensive production with 27 more points over Oceanside on Tuesday night to help lift Morse to a 70-57 victory over the Mariners at Bath Middle School in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play.

The Shipbuilders opened up with a 20-11 advantage in the first quarter and added 18 and 21 more over the next two quarters to extend their lead to 59-45.

“We played well through the first three quarters,” head coach Sam Hayes said. “Although our defense wasn’t that strong, but we were up by 18 points at one point in the fourth quarter and by then it was pretty much over.”

Casey Watson sunk three 3-pointers as part of a 16- point performance.

Morse will host Winslow on Friday. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.

MESSALONSKEE 60

Nick Mayo had a doubledouble as Messalonskee (6-4) downed flu-ridden Mt. Ararat (3-6) at Oakland.

Mayo had 20 points and 10 boards, while Nate Violette matched Mayo with 20 points. Taylor Turner chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Shy Ulrickson led Mt. Ararat, which played shorthanded and hosts Oxford Hills on Thursday at 7 p.m., with 20 points. Mason Griffin picked up nine points and Cam Cox six.

Mt. Ararat finished 10-of- 14 from the line, while Messalonskee was 7-of-14.

BRUNSWICK 52
CONY 55

The host Rams rallied from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit for a KVAC win over the Dragons at Augusta.

Cony (7-3) received 19 points from Tim Cusick, who had 10 in the pivotal final frame. He was 3-for-3 from 3-point range, and the Rams forced nine turnovers in the fourth. Liam Stokes added 18 points.

Alex Bandouveres paced Brunswick (4-5) with 20 points, with Taran Payne adding 11.

The Dragons held quarter leads of 15-13, 29-20 and 42- 33. At the free-throw line, Brunswick finished 7-of-14 and the Rams were 23-of-34.

Brunswick is slated to host Messalonskee on Thursday at 7 p.m.

HYDE 50
SEACOAST 53

At South Berwick, the host Guardians handed the Phoenix their first loss with a Western D overtime win.

Tim Yeaton and Isaac La Croix each scored four points in the extra period as Seacoast Christian (7-1) outscored Hyde (4-1), 8-5.

After a 13-13 deadlock in the opening frame, the Guardians claimed a 30-26 halftime lead. Seacoast led by five, 39-34, heading to the fourth before Hyde came back to send the game to overtime tied, 50-50.

Leading 51-50, Yeaton, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds, sank a pair of free throws for a three-point lead with 17 seconds remaining. Hyde’s attempt at a tie came up short. La Croix adding 12 points, with Ethan Towne picking up eight and Sky Archer seven.

Antoine Montgomery paced the Phoenix with 18 points, while Gregory Kidger and Andrew Palermo added 11 points apiece.

Hyde is slated to host Valley on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Bath.

DIRIGO 78
WISCASSET 54

Riley Robinson dominated both inside and outside, scoring 30 points as the visiting Cougars (8-1) picked up a Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset, which dropped its sixth straight to fall to 2-8 and hosts Carrabec on Friday at 7 p.m.

Robinson hit four 3-pointers and made six free throws. Kaine Hutchins chipped in nine points, while Tyler Frost added eight.

Brandon Sprague had 17 points to pace Wiscasset, with Ethan James adding 13 and Nate Woodman seven. Kevin Lynch had a teamleading nine rebounds, while James had seven boards and Sprague six. Grant Hefler dished out three assists.

At the foul line, Wiscasset was 14-of-21 and Dirigo 15-of- 21.

RICHMOND 42
NYA 48

The host Panthers led from the start in picking up a non-conference win over the Bobcats, who dropped their third straight (4-3) and visits undefeated Forest Hills on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

North Yarmouth Academy jumped on top 10-2 in the quarter, but Richmond closed to within two points at the half. But, a 17-12 Panthers advantage in the third allowed NYA to pull away.

Jake Malcolm had a double double for NYA with 16 points and 11 rebounds, with Eoin Anderson adding 11 points and D.J. Nicholas 10.

Zach Small paced Richmond with 16 points.

FREEPORT 49
POLAND 72

The Falcons fell to 0-8 in the Western Maine Conference against 3-5 Poland.

The Knights jumped out to a 24-8 first-quarter lead and maintained its advantage throughout. Poland led 38-21 at the half and 55-37 after three.

John Fossett paced the victors with 25 points, while Adam Macciola chipped in 13.

Jack Davenport picked up 20 points for Freeport, which hosts Lake Region on Thursday at 7 p.m. Brendan Qualls and Nate Pelletier split 12 points down the middle.
