BRUNSWICK — The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference has released the current scoring leaders in girls high school basketball.
Brunswick’s Julia Champagne is second in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game. Lawrence’s Nia Irving leads with 20.3 per contest. Madeline Suhr is Brunswick is averaging 10.3 points.
Champagne also made the list with 6.7 rebounds (13th) and 5.2 assists (second). Suhr is eighth in rebounding (7.7).
Mt. Ararat forward Allison Melcher is fifth in rebounds (8.7), while Eagles teammate Sara Lamb’s 22 3-pointers are good for third most in the KVAC.
In team scoring, Brunswick is fifth with 49.1 points a contest, while Mt. Ararat is eighth at 41.0. Defensively, the Dragons are fourth (37.7) and the Eagles sit in eighth (45.0).
Brunswick is 6-5 and hosts Brewer on Friday, while the Eagles are 4-7 and visits Hampden Academy on Friday.
