OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Facing one of the top girls basketball teams in the Western Maine Conference, host Old Orchard Beach faced just a one-point deficit at halftime against Gray-New Gloucester. But the Patriots, who lost in a shocking upset to Fryeburg in its previous game, flexed their muscles in the second half as they pulled away for a 52-40 victory Friday night.
Abby Dubois scored a game-high 15 points for the Seagulls (7-2), who trailed just 23-22 at the half. Haley Plante added 12 points.
Maria Valente equaled Dubois with 15 points to lead the Patriots (11-1).
