SANFORD — Alice (Noel McAlevey) Cassamas was called home to her eternal rest on Jan. 14, 2015 after an extended illness.

Alice was born to George and Nettie McAlevey of Saco.

She attended Saco schools, and at age 19 she married Conrad Noel, and they raised four children in Arundel.

After being widowed, she married Paul Cassamas of Sanford.

She was employed for years at the Pepperell Mills in Biddeford and the Morningstar Plant in West Kennebunk.

She loved to knit and crochet, and gave away many gifts to her children and friends over the years.

She was a longtime member of the Lyman Baptist Church, and most recently of the Main St. Baptist Church in Springvale.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Conrad Noel and Paul Cassamas; her sisters, Marion Mitchell and Theressa Chase; and her brothers, George McAlevey Jr., Kenneth Allen and Harry McAlevey.

She is survived by: her children, Roland Noel of Long Beach, California, Wilfred Noel of Sanford, Kathy Cunningham of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Norma Quinalty and husband Robert of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; dear friend, Monique Kenyon of Sanford; and an extended family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband Conrad at Tugus Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 429 Main St., Springvale.
