BIDDEFORD — Susan Lorenson-Hutchins passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 in the arms of her daughter, son and daughter-in-law after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1949, in Biddeford, the daughter of Roland U. Tellier and Joan E. Langley.

Sue was educated at St. Mary’s schools in Biddeford. She and her first husband, Charles Lorenson, had two children: a son, Louis C. Lorenson, and a daughter, Joan E. Lorenson.

On June 12, Sue married Dana E. Hutchins. Sue and Dana lived in Waterboro until she passed.

Sue enjoyed playing cards, lying in the sun, cooking, shopping and being with those she loved. She retired in 2010.

Some of the happiest times for Sue were playing a feisty game of competitive cribbage with Dana’s mother on Saturday mornings.

She loved her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter very much.

Sue treasured going to Biddeford to be with her family, which consisted of three brothers and a sister-in-law: Edward and Patricia Tellier, Richard Tellier and David Tellier, a sister, Kathleen and her husband David Fleurant, and her baby sister, Fran and husband Robert Fortin of South Berwick.

Her many nieces and nephews, and their children, include: Laurie Bruce and son Isiah, Melissa and Eric McGuiggan and sons Kolby and Ryan, Eddie and Lori Tellier and their son Chayce, Stephen and Lindsay Treadwell and son James, Gray Clegg and daughter Nya and sons Armini and Cory, Bryan and Kristy Fleurant and daughter Ari, Sarah and Bobbie Lamb and daughter Violet; they are the many family members who made her smile.

Sue adored her time with Dana and his family and loved and appreciated how much Margie and Herbie Hutchins and their daughter Marie, John and Sue Hutchins and Ma Hutchins made her feel loved.

Sue’s friends include: Brenda and Steve Patten, Carol Descoteaux, Lorette Cote and Sue and Carl Russell, who she and Dana spent most of their leisure time with. They brought Sue so much joy.

Sue loved her son, Lou, very much. She was so proud of all of his accomplishments and the man, husband and father he grew up to become. She didn’t see him often because he lived in Iowa with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children, Jessica Brice, Nate Louis and Courtney Irene, but she talked to them often.

Sue and her daughter, Jo, were very close. Jo and her two sons, Dylan Hunter and Dalton Louis, spent countless hours with Sue lying in the sun, shopping and watching their favorite TV shows. She was proud to become a great-grandmother to Lucy Olive, daughter to her grandson Dylan and his fiancée, Jessica.

Sue is preceded in death by: her first husband, Charles Lorenson, who passed away on June 16, 2001.

Sue did not want a service, but instead she asked that those who loved her and who she loved gather and celebrate all the good times shared throughout her life. Sue is at peace now and with her mother and father, who she adored.
