BIDDEFORD — Doris M. (Janelle) Basilesco passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Doris was born in Biddeford on Jan. 4, 1937, to Maurice and Helen (Poulin) Janelle, where she attended local schools.
She graduated from Biddeford High School in 1957.
She married Joseph Basilesco in 1959. She and her husband raised their family in various states while her husband was in the Air Force.
She worked throughout her life, working as a claims processor at Dental Quest for 17 years before retiring several years ago.
She was a generous and hard-working woman, who loved to sew, crochet, and walk the beach. She was talented and handy. “I can’t do this” wasn’t in her vocabulary.
She is preceded in death by: her two brothers, Lionell Janelle and Bernard Janelle.
She is survived by: Her loving husband, Joseph, of 57 years; son, Richard Basilesco; daughter, Helen Basilesco; and sister, Simonne Janelle SCIM.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and sister and will be dearly missed.
