SPRINGVALE — Springvale Public Library is hosting a session on eating better on a budget on Wednesday. The session is part of a series set to begin at 10 a.m., and is based on the USDA’s “10 Tips Nutrition Education Series,” which provide simple, easy to follow tips following dietary guidelines.The goal is to provide participants of all ages with the knowledge they need to choose and prepare healthy foods and beverages on a limited budget.
The sessions are taught by a trained nutritional professional and will provide knowledge in a fun and engaging manner. Also, food demonstrations and tastings are part of each session. Handouts will be provided with “10 Tips” that are easy to follow at home.
Continuing the series on Feb. 25 will be “Smart Shopping for Veggies and Fruits” followed by “Save More at the Grocery Store” on March 4. Each session runs from 10-11 a.m. in the library’s community room. This program is free and no registration is needed. Springvale Public Library is located at 443 Main St., Springvale.
