FREEPORT — Taylor Rinaldi had 19 points, and the Freeport High School girls basketball team held on in the fourth quarter for a 50-45 Western Maine Conference win over Kennebunk on Tuesday.
The Falcons, 2-15 and slated to host Yarmouth on Friday at 5:30 p.m., led 12-11, 24- 22 and 40-26 at the quarter breaks. The Rams (6-11) battled back in the final frame, outscoring Freeport 19-10.
Megan Cormier chipped in 12 points in the win, and the Falcons were 2-of-7 at the foul line.
Sierra Tarte and Gabby Fogg each scored nine points, with all of Tarte’s points coming in the final frame for the Rams. Kennebunk was 17-of-23 at the line.

After trading 14-8 quarter advantages in the first half, Wiscasset and Madison found the score knotted at 22 apiece.
However, Madison was able to fend off the Wolverines in the final two quarters, led by Madeline Wood, who had 15 points and Aly LeBlanc, who had eight, in a Mountain Valley Conference win.
Neither team led by more than eight points at any time during the game, while Wiscasset found a way to bring the game within a point in the fourth quarter. The Wolverines were a perfect 7- for-7 at the line, while Madison put together a 12-for-20 performance at the charity stripe.
Alecia Faulkingham paced the Wolverines with 14 points, while Kayla Gordon dropped 13.
The Wolverines (4-13) will visit Monmouth on Thursday (7 p.m.) to conclude the regular season.

The visiting Vikings slowed the game down for a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Brunswick, which fell to 10-6 and hosts rival Mt. Ararat on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Anna Winslow and Tianna Sugars each scored 10 points for Oxford Hills, which led 10-8, 14-13 and 24- 17 at the quarter breaks.
Julia Champagne led Brunswick with 13 points, with Sabrina Armstrong and Madeline Suhr adding five points each.

The Windjammers received 21 points from Maddie Bowman in a KVAC Class B win.
Camden Hills jumped to a 16-8 first-quarter lead, but Morse, 7-10 and slated to host Oceanside on Thursday (7 p.m.), climbed back into the game by halftime, trailing 25-23. Morse claimed a 36-33 advantage in the third, but the Windjammers came back to pull out a win in the fourth.
Charlotte Messer added 14 points for Camden.
Noa Sreden had a careerhigh 22 points for Morse, including three from behind the arc.

Kayla Veilleux scored 13 points to lead the Raiders to an MVC win at Wales.
Bri Mulherin added 11 points for Oak Hill (11-6), which led 17-6, 34-12 and 50- 14 at the quarter breaks.
Mia Durgin had seven points and Mikayla Yanez six for Lisbon, which fell to 3-14 and visits St. Dom’s on Thursday at 7 p.m.
