HALLOWELL — Three third-period goals for the Brunswick High School jayvee boys hockey team was more than enough to collect a 3-1 win against Cony/Gardiner on Tuesday.
After both teams went scoreless in the opening period, the Rams struck first when Brendan Tardif dumped the puck in from Thad Mahaleirs for the 1-0 advantage.
Alex Labbe knotted the game up at one with under nine minutes expired in the final period (Gabe Palizay assist). Stephen Backman put the Dragons ahead on a power-play opportunity, receiving a pass from Quinn Solberg.
Jared Hummer scored an unassisted insurance goal with 10:39 gone in the third period that eventually put the game away.
