CAMDEN — The Morse High School girls freshmen basketball team fell to Camden Hills, 52-42 in recent action.
The Shipbuilders trailed by only one after the first quarter, but the Windjammers improved upon their lead as the game progressed, leading 18-15 at the half and 35-27 after the third.
Madeline Mitchell and Marissa Parks each scored nine points for the Shipbuilders, while Lilly Maccio and Samantha Brown chipped in six. Camden’s Abbey O’Donal dropped 10 for the Windjammers, while teammate Mya Wiley added nine. Nicole Brown and Megan Gallagher each had eight.
The Shipbuilders went 6-for-21 at the free-throw line. Camden sunk 7-of-17 at the charity stripe. Morse drops to 2-3 on the season and will host Oceanside tonight.
