Patrick Dorow Productions presents the Youth Main Stage Production of “Life on a Plate.” The show runs Feb. 7 and 8 at The Players’ Ring, 105 Marcy St., in Portsmouth, N.H. “Definitions:  Words Interpreted by Fiber Artists,” will be on display at The Saco Museum through Feb. 28. The exhibition features the work of the Art Quilt Designers. “Definitions” is the culmination of a project that features widely varying interpretations for a single word. The artwork of Dennis Poirier, an American impressionist painter, will be on display at The Wells Public Library for the month of February. There will be a free reception on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be provided and the artist will answer questions. Engine is offering a February vacation day camp during the week of Feb. 16-20 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Engine’s Makers Camp invites aspiring young artists, designers, engineers, and scientists, ages 7-13, to think, explore and create. The camp will be instructed by Amanda Hawkins, a 2014 graduate of Montserrat College of Art, and has a fee of $250 for the full week, or $65 for one day. The paintings of Robin Cobb will be on exhibit at the Goodall Library through March 2015. The collection is called “Feather Paintings.” Cobb finds feathers to be the perfect canvas for her nature-inspired subjects. Each feather inspires what subject she will paint on it. Artwork by Wendy Newbold Patterson will be on display at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center through Feb. 28. “Survivors’ Suite” is a collection of paintings that focuses on the global phenomena of mass migrations of people who flee war, famine, environmental disaster and financial and social collapse. Patterson’s work seeks to convey the inner structures that bring resilience and sustain people in the face of chaos. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Artist Lisa Roderick will have a gallery opening for her watercolor and oil paintings at the Wells Public Library on Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be provided, and the artist will answer questions. Roderick, a resident of Ogunquit, has been oil painting since 2009. She won third prize in the 37th Annual Ogunquit Sidewalk Art Show after painting for only two months, and is a member of the Maine Women in the Arts Association. Engine is calling for artwork for the annual egalitarian art show entitled “Rumpus Revival.” The show will open from 5-8 p.m. on March 27 at Engine, 265 Main St. across from McArthur Public Library. All ages and levels are invited to participate. Artists can enter up to two pieces of work. Freestanding pieces must have a pedestal provided. All work that will hang on the wall must have mounting hardware attached. Work can be dropped off between March 17 and 21 during regular hours at Engine. The Sanford Professional Firefighters & Paramedics, Local 1624, will present a Valentine’s Day “Dueling Pianos” concert on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m., at the Nasson Community Center. The show will feature songs of today and yesterday along with crowd requests and sing alongs. Proceeds from this campaign will go toward the many causes the Sanford Professional Firefighters & Paramedics, Local 1624, supports throughout the year. Our Theatre Company is seeking actors ages 8-18 for their upcoming musical, “Into The Woods, Jr.” Open auditions will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18 and Thursday, Feb. 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Nasson Little Theatre, 457 Main St. in Springvale.
