Rumford police want to check on the well-being of a man who has not been seen by his family for three days, but may have been spotted in Brunswick.

Brett Carey, 58, was last seen Tuesday at 6 p.m. when he dropped off his daughter for dance practice at a business on Route 108 in Rumford. He did not return home and his wife has reported him missing, said Detective Peter Casey.

He is driving a white Nissan Pathfinder with temporary Maine registration plates.

Police received information he may have been seen in Brunswick on Wednesday night but that has not been confirmed, Casey said.

Police say Carey is not in legal trouble but they want to make sure he is OK. They have no reason to suspect foul play and know of no mental health issues that might have contributed to his absence, Casey said.

Carey is 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighs 190 pounds and has brown eyes and gray hair.

Police ask that anyone who has seen Carey call Rumford police at 364-4551.
