BIDDEFORD ”“ Dorothy R. Jalbert, 89, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born Sept. 6, 1925 in Biddeford, a daughter of Romeo and Aurore (Mor-issette) Berube, and was educated at St. Andre’s School.

On Aug. 5, 1943, she married Emilian Jalbert at St. Andre’s Church.

She had been employed at the Saco-Lowell textile mills as a young woman. Later, she was employed for 22 years at Kesslen Shoe.

She had been a member of St. Andre’s Church.

She loved Moxie, crossword puzzles, detective shows, knitting, swing music and anything chocolate. She enjoyed shopping and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by: her husband of 53 years, Emilian, in 1997; sons, Donald in 1998, Leo Paul in 2005, and Robert in 2012; and a sister, Doris Tramp in 2008.

She is survived by: six grandchildren, Scott, Tim, Heather, Crystal, Randy, and Jen; eight great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Priscilla Dube of Biddeford.

Visiting hours will be 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Anne’s Chapel in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.
