

Both the boys and girls swim teams saw personal successes, with 55 out of 69 best times being earned.
“It was a great meet for the Morse swimmers,” said Morse coach Todd Marco.
In girls swimming, Morse’s Ann Tolan received “Swimmer of the Meet.” Tolan earned first place in the 200-yard freestyle, 100-butterfly, and was on the first place 400- freestyle relay team with teammates Brittany Kaler, Bronwyn Morissette and Madison Burch.
Kaler also placed first in the 100- freestyle and 100-backstroke, while Morissette placed third in the 500- freestyle. Morse swimmers Allison Plummer and Lexi Stevenson earned second place in the 200-IM and 50-freestyle, respectively. Plummer was also second in the 100- breaststroke, and on the second place 200-freestyle relay along with Morissette, Burch and Stevenson.
Camden Hills claimed the KVAC title with 307 points, with Morse garnering 263. Belfast (193 points), Waterville (125) and Lincoln Academy (108) rounded out the top five.
In the boys meet, the Shipbuilders picked up 296.50 points to edge past Camden Hills and Belfast, which finished at 249.50- 246.50, respectively. Lincoln Academy (135) was fourth and Waterville (108) fifth.
In boys swimming, Morse’s Patrick McKenna, Drew Ceglinski, Wesley McKenna and Tucker Banger worked together to earn first place in the 200-medley relay to provide the Shipbuilders with a good start. Banger also tied for first in the 50-freestyle, and placed second in the 100-freestyle. Camden Fitzgerald earned second place in the 200-freestyle and fourth in the 500-freestyle. Ceglinski earned second in the 200-IM and third in the 100-backstroke.
Max Gurney, Cameron Marco, Patrick McKenna and Fitzgerald earned a second place win for Morse in the 200-freestyle relay. In addition to the second-place relay, Marco earned third in the 100- breaststroke, and Wesley McKenna placed second in the 100-butterfly.
The 2014- 2015 Morse swimmers, aside from the successful first and second place finishes in the KVAC meet, have also shown themselves to hold a place in history for Morse swimming as well. In the Morse top 10 record books, Tolan sits in first in the 200-freestyle (1:57.90), and third in the 200 IM ( 2: 17.62). Kaler occupies seventh in the 100-backstroke ( 1: 03.31), with Tolan in eighth ( 1: 03.44). Banger has earned fourth in the 50-freestyle ( 22.47) and ninth in the 100- freestyle (50.14). Wesley McKenna found himself moving up in top ten, grabbing seventh in the 100 fly (56.26).
Qualifying swimmers will represent Morse in the Class B State meet at the University of Maine in Orono, with the boys hitting the pool on Saturday and the girls on Monday.
