ALFRED — Melanie M. Collins, 48, of Alfred, passed away on Sunday Feb. 8, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born in Sanford on July 22, 1966 a daughter of Roger and Virginia (Stevens) Vallee. She was a graduate of Sanford High School.
For 19 years Melanie was employed at William Arthur Printing in West Kennebunk. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. She enjoyed Beach Ridge Racing with her close friends, Jamie and Dot. She was a creative person when it came to her drawings and poetry. She took an interest in her vegetable gardens and had a strong passion for politics. She was very proud of her sons and grandson.
Melanie is survived by: her parents, Roger and Virginia Vallee; her sons, Peter Collins and Taylor Collins; sister, Bethany Prime; brother, Scott Vallee; grandson, Caleb Collins; nieces and nephews, Ekko Prime, Bradyn Humphrey, Kyle Hughes, and Hannah and Lauren Vallee; as well as her beloved dog Tonka.
A Celebration of her Life will be celebrated on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Visiting hours will take place from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
