Jen Brophy, owner/operator of Red River Camps, is the guest speaker at the Sebago Trout Unlimited chapter meeting this month. She’ll talk about her sporting camp in Aroostook County’s Deboullie Township, where there are nine native brook trout waters, four wild brook trout waters, and four of the state’s native Arctic char fisheries. Come learn from Peter Cowin, known as a “bee whisperer,” about beekeeping and pollinators. Sponsored by the Fields Pond Audubon Center. The talk will be at Sea Dog Brewing Co., and is free and open to the public.

Monthly Bird Walk, 8 a.m., Holden

Join the Fields Pond Audubon Center staff for a monthly bird walk. Join experienced birders and explore the mixed habitats that surround the nature center. The nature center is located at 216 Fields Pond Road. The walk is free and open to the public. To learn more, call 989-2591.

Family Fun Day, 10 a.m., Presque Isle

Come to Aroostook State Park for the park’s eighth annual “Winter Family Fun Day.” Spend a day learning to cross-country ski, snowshoe, ice skate, or simply enjoy the sledding hill or nature walks led by park rangers. Cost is $1.50 for ages 12 to 64. Lunch is provided to all. The park is located at 87 State Park Road, just off Route 1. To learn more, call 768-8341.
