CARATUNK (AP) — A Connecticut man has died in a weekend snowmobiling accident in Maine.
The Maine Warden Service identified the victim of Saturday’s accident in Caratunk as 46-year-old Lars Otto of Danbury, Connecticut.
Lt. Kevin Adam says it appears as if Otto failed to negotiate a corner on Bald Mountain Loop Trail just before 1 p.m., causing his sled to overturn and roll on top of him. He was behind another snowmobiler who did not witness the crash.
Otto was pronounced dead at the scene.
