JOHNSON, Vt. — Kristi Willey of Topsham had a double-double as the Maine Maritime Academy women’s basketball team slipped past Johnson State College, 52-48, on Friday.
Maggie McConkey paced MMA with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals, while Willey added 15 points and 11 boards.
The Mariners were 9-of-10 from the free-throw line in the final minute of regulation to secure the win.
On Saturday, MMA fell to Lyndon State, 48-40.
The Mariners jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but Lyndon State rebounded with a 9-1 run and ended even at the half, 19-19.
Mary Badeen and McConkey had 12 points in the loss, while Willey finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
MMA is 10-13, 7-9 in the NAC, and travels to Thomas College on Wednesday.
