AUBURN (AP) — Police say a man was seriously injured after falling 40 feet through a skylight on the roof of the Auburn Mall.
The man was repairing a heating and ventilation system when he fell Wednesday afternoon. Auburn police say 43-year-old George Beam of Biddeford suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a hospital.
A Central Maine Medical Center nursing supervisor says Beam was in critical condition this morning.
Authorities say he fell 40 feet into the mall’s center court.
The cause of the fall is being investigated.
