People in Africa are affected by poverty and AIDS and we can help.
The reason that we need to help is that about 12 million people lack food and basic sanitation. Three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day.
In school we are working on the Samantha Smith project, which asked us to think about something that we would like to change or improve in our world. Through this project, we are working with an organization called the Africa Project. The Africa Project works together with people to make a difference in Africans lives by raising donations.
Our plan is to make donation boxes for food, clothes, and maybe school supplies around town. But that’s just the beginning. We would like others to get involved in this organization. If you would like more information about the organization, go to www.theafricaproject.com. If you would like to help our cause please support by donating.
Thank you for your support.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
