NASHUA, N.H. — The Maine Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse team fell to Rivier University on Saturday, 14-5, in the season opener for both teams.
Nicholas Betti scored a pair of goals to lead the Mariners on offense, while Dean Samuelson, A.J. Larrabee and Peter Moore added the other scores. Defensively, Bronson Guimond and Tim Grant led the Mariners with three caused turnovers each. Guimond, Larrabee and former Morse High School standout James Wilgus of Phippsburg each scooped up six groundballs. Wilgus recorded 11 saves in net.
