PORTLAND (AP) — A Maine government survey says the average statewide cash price for heating oil climbed 7 cents in the past week.
The Governor’s Energy Office says the average price was $2.86 a gallon, up from $2.79 the previous week, according to the March 2 survey.
The average kerosene price of $3.37 was 6 cents higher than a week ago. Propane prices stayed the same at an average of $2.71.
Heating oil averaged $3.86 per gallon a year ago at this time, while kerosene was $4.32 and propane was $3.51.
The highest price for heating oil in the state was $3.21 while the lowest price was $2.65.
