Challenger Soccer Camp
The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department is once again pleased to sponsor the Challenger Sports Soccer Camp during the week of Aug. 10-14.
This unique camp provides participants the ability to gain exposure to the English culture and the game of soccer through British soccer counselors. This program is scheduled to take place at the Foreside Field Area.
Children ages 4- 6 can sign-up for the mini camp, with two separate sessions lasting 1.5 hours each. The first will run between 9 and 10:30 a.m., with the other starting immediately after at 10:40 a.m.
Children ages 6-12 can sign-up for the Half-A-Day camp, with the session running from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
Cost for the mini camp is $90 for residents and $100 for non-residents, while the Half-A-Day camp is $130 per resident and $140 per nonresident. The cost of the camps include a T-shirt and a ball.
Challenger Mini Kickers Camp
New this year to the Challenger sports program is the Challenger Mini Kickers Camp. This program teaches basic soccer skills, while developing strength, balance, coordination, listening skills and team work for children ages 2-5.
This is a five-week program, which will run on Wednesday nights at the Foreside Recreation Field, beginning on April 29. Cost is $70 per participant, with a required minimum camp size of eight to run this program on a first-come, firstserve basis. A T-shirt and ball is included in the cost.
Ages 2-3 will run between 4:15 and 5 p.m., with the 4-5 age group following at 5:15-6 p.m.
Cross Country
The cross country program will kick off on April 27 at 5 p.m., at the Topsham Foreside Field Area, with a meeting location at the road entrance to the Riverside Field (Gate).
The program is available to children ages 6-12 who reside in SAD 75. Children ages 6-7 will require adult supervision. The cost to register is $30 and includes a team T-shirt. An additional $10 will be applied to non- Topsham residents.
Practices will be held every Monday and Thursday, with meets being held on Wednesdays beginning on May 6. Participants must provide their own transportation to Mid Coastal Communities. A schedule of meets and directions will be made available during the first week of practice.
Eagles Lacrosse
Topsham Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the Eagles Lacrosse Club once more, with middle school teams made up for boys and girls grades 7-8.
Registration is $80 per player, with families of two or more players given the option of registering for $50 per player. Payment plans are available. Parents are responsible for transporting their players to all games.
Anyone who is not registered will not be allowed to practice.
