ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Alexandre Bolduc had a goal and two assists and the Portland Pirates held off the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 5-4 in an American Hockey League game Saturday night at the PPL Center.

Bolduc scored an empty-netter with 1:38 left in the third period to put Portland ahead 5-3. It was Bolduc’s team-leading 15th of the season, and his three-point game increased his season total to 37, also a team best.

Scott Laughton scored Lehigh’s final goal with 10 seconds left after the Phantoms again pulled their goalie for an extra attacker.

With its fourth straight victory, Portland moved into a three-way tie with Worcester and Hartford for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The top eight teams make the playoffs.

Francis Wathier put the Pirates ahead 6:26 into the game, and Phillip Samuelsson gave Portland a 2-1 lead with 5:50 left in the first.

Brendan Shinnimin converted a power-play late in the second period for his 14th goal and a 3-1 lead.

Henrik Samuelsson picked up his 12th goal 3:09 into the third, snapping a 3-3 deadlock.
