We believe that animals should be treated the same way as humans. We think this because animal cruelty can affect more than just animals. We also think this because animals help make humans happy.
We think that animals should be treated the same as humans, because animal cruelty can affect more than just animals. We think this because when we did an interview of some of the vets at the Androscoggin Animal Hospital and one of the questions we asked was: “Do you think animal cruelty will affect anything other that animals?” All of them said “yes.” Jen said: “Yes, it will it will affect the future and everyone in it.”
We think that animals should be treated the same as humans. We think this because animals make humans happier. We think that this proves that animals should be treated the same as humans, because humans need some happiness in their lives and the animals give it to them. We think that animals should be treated the same as humans, because people that are mean to animals might think they can get away with treating animals badly.
By the way, did you know that in 2007, 1,880 cases of animal cruelty were reported locally. Specifically, there were 1,212 dogs were involved in animal cruelty, 337 cats were involved in animal cruelty, and 470 other animals were involved in animal cruelty. Thank you.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
