BIDDEFORD — City Manager John Bubier announced at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting that he will be stepping down in the coming months.
Bubier has served in the role for 10 years, and said he has agreed to continue to serve until June 30. Then, at some point between June 30 and September, a new city manager will take over, said Bubier.
Bubier added that he will continue to work with the city on a “reduced schedule,” having a hand in economic development ”“ an area he said he’s always had a particular interest in.
“We will now start our process toward finding the fourth city manager for Biddeford,” Bubier told the council. He also expressed gratitute toward the current council members and all of the councilors he’s worked with over the last decade.
After the announcement, Mayor Alan Casavant turned to Bubier to express his own gratitude. “Your expertise and leadership has been so instrumental in all the positive things that have happened (in Biddeford),” he said.
