She was born in Quincy, Mass., on Nov. 18, 1941, the daughter of Thayer and Helen Russell. Pauline was raised in Braintree, grew up involved in the Dora Ferguson catering business and most enjoyed her summers surrounded by extended family on Littlejohn Island.
She was employed at the Yarmouth town office and especially enjoyed the social interactions her job provided. In retirement, Pauline enjoyed traveling, gardening, meeting new friends, and socializing in her Westport Island community.
Pauline is survived by her brother, Peter Russell; her sons, Russell, Randall and Jonathan Langmaid; her daughter, Kathryn Gerding; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her children wish to express their appreciation to the nursing staff of the Bay Square at Yarmouth facility for their professionalism, tender care and sincere kindness that was extended to Pauline. We thank you.
A family memorial service will be held this spring to fulfill her final wishes.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in her honor to the Yarmouth Maine Lions Club, C/O Club Secretary, P.O. Box 512, Yarmouth, ME 04096.
Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. www.bibberfuneral.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
