The Town Office, at Mallett Hall, is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday 8:30 a.m.-6:30 and closed Friday.

The Pownal Board of Selectmen meet Monday, April 6 and April 20, at 7 p.m., at Mallett Hall.
Cafe? features artist
Work by Annette Fox of Durham is on display through March 28 at Edna & Lucy’s Cafe?, 407 Hallowell Road, Pownal, during regular business hours.
Taxes due
The third-quarter real estate tax payment was due on March 15. For those who owe interest on a previous payment or have past due taxes, the town is required to apply payments to the oldest tax amount first.
Beans, spaghetti to be served
The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, will hold a public baked bean and spaghetti supper on Saturday, March 28, from 4:30-6 p.m. On the menu are three kinds of beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, cole slaw, biscuits and brown bread, pickled beets and assorted homemade pies. Tickets are adults $8, children 4-12 years $3, and free for kids under 3. The church is handicapped assessable. For more information, call Kim at 865-3517. This is the only change in the monthly suppers. All other suppers will resume on the first Saturday of the month including Fourth of July.
Easter Week services
A Maundy Thursday service will be held April 2, at 7 p.m., at the First Parish Congregational Church, 422 Hallowell Road, Pownal. It is a joint service with North Pownal United Methodist Church
On Good Friday, April 3, from noon-6 p.m., the North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, will be open for prayer.
Easter Sunrise Service is Sunday, April 5, at 6 a.m., on the peak of Bradbury Mountain in Pownal, with Sandy Williams, pastor, officiating. There will also be a service under the shelter at the foot of the mountain with the Rev. John Wentworth for those unable to climb (or in the First Parish Congregational Church in Pownal in case of severely inclement weather). Coffee and doughnuts will be served at the Pownal church following the service. It is sponsored by the First Parish Congregational Church in Pownal and the First Baptist Church of Freeport, and anyone is welcome to attend.

Help out class of 2015
As part of Project Graduation fundraising, Freeport High School class of 2015 is holding a fundraising bottle and beverage can drive at Bow Street Market during March. Bottles and cans can be brought directly to the store or a pickup can be arranged. Dunkin’ Donuts Community Mugs are also available. Buy a mug for $20 and bring it into any neighborhood Dunkin’ Donuts in Maine or Coos and Carroll counties in New Hampshire and receive free hot or iced coffee every Sunday in 2015. Food pantry
The North Pownal United Methodist Church food Pantry on 851 Lawrence Road is now open every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The pantry never knows from week to week what it will be getting. If any farmers or others would like to donate to the pantry, contact the Rev. Ray St. Pierre, 837-0682, or Deb Larrabee, 240-1637. The pantry helps those in need and welcomes everyone.
Men’s breakfast
The First Parish Church of Pownal hosts a men’s breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 7:30 a.m., open to any men who want to come. The Rev. John Wentworth leads the discussions.
Church services
North Pownal United Methodist Church worship service is Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday School for children and adults is at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome. The Rev. Raymond St. Pierre is pastor. His hours are Wednesdays from 8 a.m.-noon p.m., by appointment in the afternoon and Thursdays by appointment. The church phone is 688-4938. For more information, call St. Pierre at 837-0682.
