ROCHESTER, N.H. — Lorraine E. (Lagueux) Vanasse, 91, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Frisbie Hospital in Rochester.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1923 in Somersworth, New Hampshire, a daughter of the late Joseph and Adeliann (Bolduc) Lagueux, and attended the former St. Martin’s Academy.

Lorraine was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, and an avid volunteer, including the Holy Rosary Mission and Bereavement committees; a Third Order Franciscan; former member of the Ladies Guild of St. Peter’s Church in Farmington, New Hampshire; and a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Roger on March 9, 1992; her brothers, Wilfred, Leo, Ronald, Raymond, Armand, and Ralph Lagueux; three sisters, Laurette Maxfield, Beatrice Deschesnes, and Rita Larochelle-Newbury.

She is survived by: her four children, Corinne Brundage and husband Lawrence of Milford, New Hampshire, David Vanasse of Alfred, Daniel Vanasse and wife Susan of Dover, New Hampshire, and Andre Vanasse and wife Cathy of Wells; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held from 6-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m., on Friday, March 27 at the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth, NH.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 28, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main Street, Rochester, NH. The celebrant will be Fr. Paul M. Gousse. Interment will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery later in the spring.
