BIDDEFORD — Carol A. Goldthwaite, 72, of Biddeford, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born in Laconia, New Hampshire on Oct. 9, 1942, a daughter of Bolik and Doris (Dubuc) Kizala. 

Carol graduated from Lowell High School, class of 1960, in Lowell, Massachusetts, and also received her nursing degree from The Maine Medical School of Nursing.

She married her husband Ted on March 23, 1963, and they recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

She was a registered nurse employed by Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, Vermont and Memorial Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire, as well as several health care practices for many years.

She was an avid reader and liked to spend her days on the beach with a book in hand. In her spare time, she liked to spend time with her family, travel to the Caribbean and do Sudoku puzzles. 

She is survived by: her husband, Jens M. Goldthwaite of Biddeford; one son, Kevin Goldthwaite and his wife Erika of Silver Spring, Maryland; two daughters, Lisa Burgess and her husband Steve of New Boston, New Hampshire, and Karen Goldthwaite of Manchester, New Hampshire; and two grandchildren, Ally Goldthwaite and Elizabeth Goldthwaite.

Services are private. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
