WELLS — Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge in Wells is accepting applications until April 1 for summer Youth Conservation Corps members. Young adults between the ages of 15 and 18 who are interested in working outdoors are encouraged to apply. The crew will work with refuge staff on projects including trail maintenance, constructing and repairing facilities, control of invasive plant species and help protect endangered species such as piping plover. The program will run from June 29 through August 21. Crew members will work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, and will be paid Maine minimum wage, which is $7.50 per hour.
