SANFORD — Joseph R. Provencal, 76, originally of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in North Carolina surrounded by his family.
Joseph was proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1958, and the Maine National Guard from 1980 to 1986.
He retired from Tennford Weaving and was a volunteer for the Sanford Fire Department.
He was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Ignatius Church.
He enjoyed studying the Bible as well as working on his coin/stamp collections.
He is preceded in death by: his mother, Yvonne Provencal; his father, Paul Provencal; and sister, MaryAnn Gendron.
He is survived by: his sister, Annette Foisy; his ex-wife, Karen Curtis; children, Mark Provencal, Robert Goodrich, Vicki Rumney and David Provencal. Grandpa especially will be missed by his daughter-in- law, Faith; and his grandchildren, Savanna, Samantha and Benjamin.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral services.
