WESTPORT ISLAND — Kenneth M. Murray Jr., 84, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, March 29, 2015. In 2007, he was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Helen Louise Wright-Murray.
Ken and Helen were members of the Woolwich Wiscasset Baptist Church for 40 years. Ken was part of two gospel quartets: the Swordsmen Quartet and the Northern Lights Quartet from 1965 to 1970. Ken retired in 1994 from the Bath Maine Public Works Department, where he was the director for 19 years.
He leaves behind his longtime companion, Tanya Smith of Wiscasset; a daughter, Cathy Fuller and husband Andy of Westport Island, a daughter, Terri Norton and husband Ross of Westport Island, a son, Richard Murray and girlfriend Brooke Hathaway of Bowdoin, a daughter, Tana Stillwell and husband Troy of Wiscasset; a brother, Fred Murray and wife Delight of Edgecomb; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; a special caregiver, Becky Russell of Westport Island; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family ceremony and burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Maine.
