SACO — Marion Ruth Johnson, 92, passed away April 5, 2015 in Kennebunk. 

She was born on May 19, 1922 in Saco, the daughter of Roy Moulton and Ruth Ellen Hill Fogg.

Marion graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1940.

Marion was employed as the secretary at Fairfield and Young Schools for many years, and she also worked as a bank teller at York National Bank.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star ”“ Annette Chapter #184 ”“ Past Grand Officer OES in Maine; Women’s E&I Union; York County Retired Teachers Association; Thornton Academy Alumni Association; and the First Parish Congregational Church, serving as secretary/treasurer of various organizations.

Marion loved cooking for her family and for many social events. She also enjoyed researching her family genealogy.

Marion is preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth H. Johnson; and her brother, Donald R. Fogg.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carol J. and her husband Ronald Smith, Susan J. and her husband Brian Hammond, and Bethany J. Kent; her sisters, Carolyn F. Drury, and Jane F. Garvin and her husband Steven; a brother-in-law, Leonard Johnson; a sister-in-law, Audrey Fogg; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, on Wednesday, April 8, from 5-8 p.m. The Annette Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service.

A memorial service will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 13 Beach St., Saco, on Thursday, April 9 at 2 p.m. Rev. Doug Neilson will officiate.

Burial will be next to her husband at South Buxton Cemetery.
