BRUNSWICK — Registration has opened for the 5th annual Coastal Youth Orchestra 5K/Walk and Fun Run, “Go for Baroque….out and Bach.” The race will take place Sunday, April 26, on Pennellville Road in Brunswick.

The race is organized by the Coastal Youth Orchestra and will benefit the organization’s musical programs for young people. CYO musicians will play music along the course. The 5K course in Brunswick is an out-andback run, and is generally flat and very scenic. The race starts at the intersection of Old Pennellville and Pennellville Roads, taking Pennellville Road to a right onto Pennel Way, left onto Simpson Pt. Road to the end and return to the start. The race is competitive, but fun and is well known for it’s beautiful course, music, great snacks, great people, prizes and fun.

Race fees are $25 for the 5K ($20 for students 18 and under). The first 100 runners to register will receive a T-shirt. Registration fee for the Fun Run is $10, or $20 including a T-shirt.

The one mile Fun Run will start at 9 a.m. and the 5K will follow at 9:30 a.m. Parking is available along the soccer field on Pennellville Road. Race day registration and packet pickup will start at 7:30 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded in several categories. A registration form is available for download at www.coastalyouthorchestra.org or may be done online at Active.com. For more information contact Nancy Roderick at [email protected] 751-4718.
